What is Buddy Clocking?
'Buddy clocking' or 'Buddy Punching' is a form of employee time theft. The term is used to describe when an employee will have someone else (their buddy) clock their time card or fob instead of doing it themselves. Employees do this for a number of reasons, possibly they're running late, leave early or simply don't arrive at work.
Whatever the reasons, this practice results in employees being paid for hours which they have not worked - costing their company additional funds for work that is not even being performed.
