Time and Attendance - Working Time Directive
As an employer you have a responsibility to promote the health and safety of your employees in relation to the hours worked. One of the simplest ways to monitor your employees working hours is through the application Intelligent Time. This will provide a simple and effective way of monitoring staff working hours and will ensure that you can uphold the employer responsibilities for employee welfare under the Working Time Directive.
The Intelligent Time and Attendance software allows you to categorise records according to what is included in the accrual of time, for example:
- Job-related training
- Job-related travelling time, for example, if you are a sales rep
- Working lunches, for example business lunches
- Time spent working abroad, if you work for a UK-based company
- Paid and some unpaid overtime
- Time spent 'on-call' at the workplace

And also those activities not included in the analysis:
- Breaks when no work is done, such as lunch breaks
- Normal travel to and from work
- Time when you are 'on call' away from the workplace
- Evening and day-release classes not related to work
- Travelling outside of normal working hours
- Unpaid overtime that you have volunteered for, so for example, staying late to finish something off
- Paid or unpaid holiday
Thereby allowing you to analyse clearly and accurately and provide your workforce with the correct summaries of their records.
Intelligent Time can show all employees who have opted in or out from the scheme and then if they are working under, coming close or breaching the WTD rules.
