Environmental Policy

Isys Group Ltd. is a leading UK developer of software management systems whose mission is to provide the most effective and scalable solutions possible to meet the needs of its clients. The company recognises that its operations, both direct and indirect via its supply chain, have impacts on the environment. Isys is committed to a process of continual monitoring and review, and the adoption of an environmental management system, to ensure that these impacts are identified and minimised. The company’s aim is to work towards positive environmental outcomes and impacts.

To achieve this, Isys is committed to:

• Complying with all applicable environmental legislation and relevant professional codes of conduct as a minimum standard.

• Developing and maintaining an Environmental Management System (EMS) and using this to set and regularly review objectives and targets, and to monitor progress.

• Preventing pollution and minimising resource and energy use associated with key company environmental aspects by:

  • Actively researching and keeping up-to-date with industry changes and technological/product advances that provide opportunities for minimising direct and indirect environmental impacts. Communicating these to clients and suppliers.
  • Using only recycled paper made from 100% post-consumer waste on site.
  • Using only environmentally certified printers where possible.
  • Actively promoting the use of walking, cycling, public transport and car-sharing over private vehicle use by staff and for meetings.
  • Sourcing office supplies from within Wiltshire, or the South West where possible.
  • Working with suppliers and contractors located in the same county or region wherever possible.
  • Operating digitally and electronically wherever possible.
  • Ensuring all non-avoidable waste is reused, recycled or composted if it can be, and that residual non-recyclable waste is disposed of responsibly and in line with current regulations.
  • Purchase electricity from 100% renewable by May 2009.
  • Offsetting carbon emissions associated with the company’s operations as a final measure where all means of minimisation and/or behavioural change have been exhausted.
  • Ensuring that all employees and sub-contractors have the necessary knowledge and competence to uphold practices, procedures and commitments within the EMS, identifying and meeting training needs as appropriate.
  • Allocating financial and staff resources to ensure that these commitments are honoured.
