“It was the Microsoft Outlook format and the 3 panel interface that Intelligent Time had to offer that really attracted us. From the start all users felt comfortable with the System due to its outlook appearance and so the system proved to be very easy to use and navigate around.”- Andrew Philpot Temco Services UK Ltd Managing Director
With Isys Intelligent Telephone clocking Utility Leading Cleaning Services Company, manages expanding employee numbers with ease using Isys Intelligent Systems.
Overview
In 2001 the highly successful Cleaning and Facility Services Company, Temco Services, launched its UK Division. Having been established since 1917 in America Temco is renowned for its flexibility in structuring programs to fit customer’s specific requirements. As their reputation grew Temco opened its UK Head Office as they strived to make an impact on the UK Contract Cleaning Sector. Based in Uxbridge, London, Temco Services UK Ltd has quickly established an impressive client portfolio
base which includes companies such as Weight Watchers, Kodak, GKN and GE Healthcare. As this customer base continues to grow so does the Temco’s employee level, with over 250 people now employed for the UK division.
System History
It was in 2003 that the Isys Group was first introduced to Temco’s UK Division. At the time Temco were operating on one site and were reaching towards an employee count of 100. A need was soon established to move away from their manual paper based system that had been in operation and replace it with a fully automated Time and Attendance System that would speed up the practice of recording employee’s working hours. To run alongside the Time and Attendance System Temco purchased
the Magstripe Clocking Terminal range to capture employees clocking times.
Changing Times
As Temco continued to grow within the UK market not only was their size changing but also that of their Time and Attendance requirements. The 100 employee level was quickly broken and due to the flexible licensing structure of Intelligent Time, Temco could expand the system according to their employee demands. Such expansion saw the new Intelligent Time upgrade deployed with the addition of Telephone Clocking and introduction of Finger Geometry Clocking Terminals.
In 2006 Temco deployed the ISYS Telephone Clocking Utility (TCU) for their, now, 150 employees. Being a Facility Services Company Temco’s staff work in a variety of offices and locations and this has often proved to be a difficult task for other Time and Attendance companies in their attempt to record remote staff’s working hours. Through the use of data logic cards it allowed all of Temco’s remote workers to clock in and out via any designated analogue, digital or e1 telephone. With this set up configured to transfer all clocking data back to Intelligent Time it enable Temco to record all their remote staff’s working hours and use this information for Reporting and Payroll purposes.
Temco’s growth had not stopped there. Towards the end of 2007 they had had employed a further 50 employees taking the total to 200. With more employees spreading over more sites the need increased for staff identity badges. To assist with this requirement the Isys Card Printer Module was purchased as it would allow Temco to print their own staff’s identification badges and with the rate the company was growing, such an occurrence was becoming frequent. It also allowed Temco to store the employee identity photo within Intelligent Time meaning that the identity cards became duel purposes as staff could now use them to clock in and out with as well and using them for identity purposes for the sites they were working on.
“As the company was growing quickly the Isys TCU Module allowed us to keep up with this growth. With more employees working in more buildings the TCU means that we can keep an accurate track on their working patterns and pay each of these employees dependant upon the hours they have physically worked”
Andrew Philpot Temco Services UK Ltd Managing Director
System Overview
Temco are currently using the following Modules from Isys:
Intelligent Time- Administrated by three users, Intelligent Time is used to help record up to 250 employee’s shift patterns, working rules and hours. All information that is stored and recorded upon within Intelligent Time is used for a variety of purposes from absence management through to payroll reporting. Indeed the latter has seen Isys write a specific payroll report for Temco’s use of Intelligent Time.
Intelligent HR-
Used to record all HR related information for Temco’s workforce. Such information ranges from training records, to skill sets to employee appraisals.
Intelligent Telephone Clocking – TCU
Using Supported Caller ID (CLI) the TCU is configured to only accept calls from presetnumbers meaning that Temco’s workers have to clock in and out on certain phones. Remote workers can therefore clock at any location at any time of the day. To prevent buddy clocking Random Verification checks are installed. This has allowed Temco to roll out Time and Attendance to its entire workforce.
